Sudbury Picture Frames is an established business based in Suffolk for over 60 years and is currently owned and run by Timothy Bowles & William Hayward.

Tim and William have extensive knowledge of all manners of framing having both trained for many years under master framer Mr. Edward Wendt. Tim has 30 years experience in the picture framing trade.

Having previously studied at Art and Design College he has an excellent grasp of all the styles and finishes of frames that the company produces.

With a keen eye he makes sure that all frames are completed with the utmost precision and pass all criteria’s of quality before they are ready for the customer.

William originally trained as a carpenter before entering his framing career. Now with over 40 years experience in picture framing he is responsible for supervising all technical and manufacturing matters.

Having worked in all departments which has given him extensive experience in all the traditional processes and techniques of frame making.

  • All our frames are handmade on the premises by skilled craftspeople.
  • Using age-old techniques such as English Gilding in Gold Leaf we endeavour to re-create the hand crafted frames of a bygone age. We also make frames in the styles of today for an up-to-date feel.
  • We offer free consultations for restoration of damaged picture frames and gilt furniture and also advice for artworks that are in need of restoration or cleaning.
  • If an item is too large to be brought into the workshop we can arrange a home visit and collection if necessary.
  • We cater for the general public, galleries and museums offering a bespoke tailored service to meet every customer’s requirement.
